The most popular shoe on the market, the Air Jordan is unmatched. In 1982 Michael Jordan’s career was about to take off. At the same time he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls he also was signed by Nike. Not only did Michael Jordan get millions from Nike but they made shoes in his honor, the Air Jordan.

For every game that Jordan played he was fined $5,000 but Nike had no issue footing the bill. The shoe gained so much attention that Nike gained over $100 million in revenue in just 1 year. By 1988 Nike had released 4 different Air Jordans and finally included the famous “Jumpman” logo.

By 2024 Nike has released 38 different Air Jordans. Along the way adding state of the art innovation to each and every shoe. From the first initial drop of the shoe to 2024 Nike reports selling over 130 Million pairs of Air Jordans.

Air Force

First launching in 1982, the Nike Air Force was introduced as a new type of basketball shoe. Due to its lack of success they were discontinued in 1983.

Don’ After increasing demand they were re-introduced in 1984 and gained popularity rapidly. Throughout the course of their career Nike has released 82 different types of the Air Force 1’s.

Lifestyle

The first ever creation by Nike was the Cortez, a track shoe. From there Nike began their focus on the basketball industry, setting aside their “Lifestyle” brand.

In 2003 Nike bought Converse, and finally began their “lifestyle” brand once again. Moreover, the main focus of Nike’s “Lifestyle” brand continues innovation with their shoes, but they little do create new lines like the others.
